The market is holding on to its gains on selective buying support. The Sensex is now up 26 points at 6,876, while the Nifty is steady at 2,157 - up nine points.The market breadth is firm with 1,119 advances and 669 losers.Reliance, with a volume of over 8.70 lakh, is up 1.38% (Rs 8) at Rs 580. ONGC is up 1.79% (Rs 16) at Rs 906. While ITC has shed 1.72% (Rs 23) to Rs 1,368, HLL is trading lower by 2.26% (Rs 3) at Rs 147.HDFC Bank has gained nearly 3% (Rs 17) to Rs 594. While SBI has moved up 1.11% (Rs 8) to Rs 721, ICICI Bank is up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 400.Infosys is up a per cent (Rs 18) at Rs 2,236. Satyam, on a volume of over 6.62 lakh, too is trading a per cent higher (Rs 4) at Rs 406. Wipro, however, is weak at Rs 715 - down Rs 6.HDFC is trading firm with a gain of 3.38% (Rs 26) to Rs 799. While Hindalco has surged 2.65% (Rs 36) to Rs 1,411, BHEL is up 1.31% (Rs 11) at Rs 864. L&T has added 2% (Rs 23) to Rs 1,123.HPCL, however has lost 1.65% (Rs 6) to Rs 338.Mcdowell has soared 9.98% (Rs 16) to Rs 181. While Shaw Wallace has surged 5.60% (Rs 12) to Rs 233, Ruchi Soya has gained 3.95% (Rs 6) to Rs 164. Godfrey Philips, P&G, Glaxo Consumer, Dabur and Marico are trading with steady gains.Forbes Gokak, however, has shed 6.26% (Rs 17) to Rs 250. While IFCI has dropped 4.29% to Rs 14, Matrix Labs is trading lower by 4.18% at Rs 177.
