The Sensex continues to exhibit firm trend and is now at 17,783, up 90 points. The NSE Nifty is 29 points higher at 5,319.
The midcap index has added 1% at 6,930. Core Projects and Godrej Industries have advanced 4% each to Rs 243 and Rs 154, respectively.
The smallcap index has advanced 1% on the BSE. shree Ram Mills and Lloyds metal have added 13-17% each.
Among the Sensex-30 stocks, Tata Power, ICICI Bank and DLF have advanced 2% each to Rs 1,382, Rs 970 and Rs 317, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hero Honda have added 1.5% each.
Hindustan Unilever has slipped 1.5% to Rs 227. Infosys and Wipro were down 1% each on the BSE.
Among the sectoral indices, realty and bankex indices have added 1% each on the BSE.
While the IT index has slipped 1% to 5,312.
The market breadth is positive, out of 2,386 shares traded, 1,797 have advanced and 536 have declined so far on the BSE.
