Sensex steady post policy; Reliance gains 4%

The Sensex continues to remain steady and is now up 191 points at 8,865. The index witnessed a marginal negative knee-jerk reaction following a status-quo policy from tthe RBI, however, it soon stabilised thereafter.

The Reserve Bank of India in its quarterly review of the Credit Policy today left all key rates - repo, reverse repo and Cash Reserve Ratio - unchanged.

Sterlite has soared over 8% to Rs 259. Reliance Infrastructure has surged 5.5% to Rs 512.

Maruti and TCS have rallied 4.3% each to Rs 538 and Rs 507, respectively.

Infosys, Wipro, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance have moved up around 4% each to Rs 1,254, Rs 223, Rs 64 and Rs 1,199, respectively.

Grasim and Tata Steel have advanced 3.7% each to Rs 1,180 and Rs 172, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Sun Pharma are up 3.5% each at Rs 637 and Rs 1,112, respectively.

ONGC has shed 2.7% at Rs 629. Larsen & Toubro has slipped 1.4% to Rs 632.
