The Sensex today opened marginally up at 14,506. It advanced a bit higher before slipping into the negative zone, to a low of 14,485.
The index has now recovered and is up 105 points at 14,599.
Tata Motors and Sterlite have added 1.5% each to Rs 296 and Rs 617, respectively.
Tata Power, Hindustan Unielever, Sun Pharma, HDFC Bank, ITC, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra & Mahindra have also moved up.
Meanwhile, Hindlaco has shed 3.5% at Rs 83. ACC has dropped 2.5% to Rs 750. ICICI Bank has declined 2% to Rs 708. TCS has slipped 1% to Rs 385.
