The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 48 points at 7,682, and remained in positive zone right through the session today. After hitting a high of 7,758 points in noon deals, the Sensex finally closed with a gain of 111 points (1.45%) at 7,745.All the sectoral indices finished on a bullish note. A weak rupee saw the BSE Teck index zoom over 2% (41 points) to 2,030. The BSE Metal Index was up 1.8% (114 points) at 6,328.The mood was clearly bullish - out of 2,660 scrips traded, 1,708 advanced, 911 declined and 41 were unchanged today.HLL gained nearly 3% (Rs 5) to Rs 167. SBI moved up over 2% (Rs 16) to Rs 789. ONGC added 1% (Rs 10) to Rs 977. Reliance was up Rs 8 at Rs 708, and ITC was also up Rs 8 at Rs 1,709.Satyam zoomed 4% (Rs 22) to Rs 523. Infosys was up over 2% (Rs 54) at Rs 2,347. While TCS also gained over 2% (Rs 30) to Rs 1,384, Wipro was up Rs 7 at Rs 358.Grasim moved up Rs 15 to Rs 1,303. ACC and Gujarat Ambuja also closed at higher levels.HDFC gained 3% (Rs 26) to Rs 896. NTPC moved up 3% to Rs 102. Dr. Reddy's added Rs 15 to Rs 792. Tata Steel was up Rs 7 at Rs 391.Hindalco, which went ex-split (1:10) today, closed at Rs 142 as against the last close of Rs 1,387.Tech scrips finished with gains. HCL Tech was up 6% at Rs 451. Mastek, Visual and Geometric also closed at higher levels today.Jaiprakash Associates zoomed 13% (Rs 36) to Rs 316. Bharat Forge gained 9% to Rs 319.Reliance Capital was the most active counter with a turnover of Rs 106 crore followed by Reliance (Rs 95 crore), Satyam (Rs 61 crore), HDFC (Rs 58 crore) and Spanco Tele-Systems (Rs 55 crore).
