Hero Honda, Satyam, HLL and Infosys have gained around 2% each at Rs 654, Rs 456, Rs 200 and Rs 1,958, respectively.
ONGC and ITC have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 843 and Rs 149, respectively. Tata Motors has added 1.5% to Rs 680.
HDFC and Bajaj Auto have slipped around 1.4% each to Rs 1,413 and Rs 2,271, respectively. Cipla shed 1% to Rs 223.
The market breadth has turned positive - out of 2,127 stocks traded so far, 1,092 have advanced, 968 have advanced and 67 are unchanged.
