Ranbaxy has gained 4.8% to Rs 529. Bhel has advanced 3% at Rs 1,659. HDFC, Hindalco and L&T are up 3.5% at Rs 2,519, Rs 196 and Rs 2,990, respectively. Tata Steel and Bharti are trading at 1.8% at Rs 911 and Rs 874, respectively.
DLF, ONGC, Cipla, HDFC Bank, Infosys, M&M and HUL are all trading over 1%.
Ambuja Cements has declined 2% to Rs 95. Reliance and ICICI Bank have lost 1.2% Rs 2, 435 and Rs 787 respectively.
Satyam is down 1.1% at Rs 520. Wipro, SBI and Jaiprakash are all down less than 1%.
