The Sensex is now up 131 points at 14,380.HDFC has soared 3.5% to Rs 1,968.ACC and Grasim have surged 3% each to Rs 981 and Rs 2,810, respectively. Ambuja Cements has gained 2.6% at Rs 134.Larsen & Toubro has moved up 2.4% to Rs 2,441. Infosys, Satyam and Tata Motors have rallied 1.8% each to Rs 1823, Rs425 and Rs 630, respectively.Ranbaxy, Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra and NTPC have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 360, Rs 861, Rs 639 and Rs 163, respectively.ITC, Maruti, BHEL, Hindustan Unilever, Dr.Reddy's, Reliance Energy, Reliance Communications and SBI are the other major gainers.Cipla has shed 1.7% to Rs 173, and HDFC Bank has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,102.ICICI Bank is down 1% at Rs 839.Out of 2,539 stocks traded so far, 1,464 have advanced, 1,037 have declined and 38 are unchanged.
