The Sensex is now up 178 points at 12,915.HDFC Bank has zoomed 6.7% to Rs 1,055. ICICI Bank has rallied 3.5% to Rs 719.Hindalco has surged 3.3% to Rs 181. ITC has flared up 2.7% to Rs 194, and TCS has added 2.5% to Rs 1,132.Larsen & Toubro has advanced over 2% to Rs 1,295. Reliance has moved up 1.7% to Rs 1,211.Reliance Energy and ONGC have gained around 1.5% each to Rs 469 and Rs 1,171, respectively.Satyam, Cipla, Wipro, NTPC and Infosys are the other smart gainers.Bajaj Auto has slipped over 1% to Rs 3,086.Out of 2,555 stocks traded so far, 1,388 have declined, 1,093 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
