The market is still exhibiting gains in mid-morning trades, though off from its early highs, with selling in auto, tech and other select old economy counters weighing on the index. The Sensex, as a result, is now up 22 points at 6,871 with buying in select heavyweights attracting further buying support. The Nifty is steady at 2,156 - up eight points.ONGC has flared up 1.66% (Rs 15) to Rs 904. While Reliance is trading with steady gains at Rs 577, HLL has extended its losses by 2.43% (Rs 4) to Rs 147.HDFC Bank has moved up 2.69% (Rs 15) to Rs 592. SBI and ICICI Bank have inched up a per cent each to Rs 722 (up Rs 5) and Rs 400 (up Rs 4), respectively.Ranbaxy has gained 1.18% (Rs 12) to Rs 1,030. Dr. Reddy's and Cipla are trading with steady gains at Rs 727 (up Rs 5) and Rs 271 (up Rs 3), respectively.Hindalco has surged 2.78% (Rs 38) to Rs 1,413. While HDFC has advanced 3.19% (Rs 25) to Rs 797, Reliance Energy is up 2.37% (Rs 13) at Rs 570.Wipro has dropped 2.80% (Rs 20) to Rs 717. While Infosys is trading lower by half a per cent (Rs 10) at Rs 2,228, Satyam has added 1.40% (Rs 6) to Rs 406. Zee has plunged 5.96% (Rs 8) to Rs 144. Bajaj has slipped into the red (down Rs 8 to Rs 1,092) after a positive opening. Other auto majors, too, have lost ground from its early gains.BHEL (down Rs 10 to Rs 863) has eased on selling pressure.
