The Sensex pared gains and is now up 250 points at 17,578. The index today touched a fresh all-time intra-day high of 17,953.Infosys and NTPC have surged 3.5% each to Rs 1,960 and Rs 213, respectively. ICICI Bank has gained 3.3% at Rs 1,093.Reliance Communications and ONGC have soared over 3% each to Rs 631 and Rs 1,028, respectively.HDFC and Reliance have moved up 2.8% each to Rs 2,580 and Rs 2,352, respectively.BHEL, Wipro, Tata Motors, TCS and Reliance Energy have rallied around 2% each to Rs 2,035, Rs 464, Rs 790, Rs 1,060 and Rs 1,375, respectively.Cipla has plunged over 3% to Rs 183. Tata Steel has dropped 1.5% to Rs 828.Ranbaxy has slipped 1.3% to Rs 435. SBI, Ambuja Cements and Dr.Reddy's are down around 1% each at Rs 1,872, Rs 146 and Rs 653, respectively.Out of 2,760 stocks traded so far, 1,656 have declined, 1,050 have advanced and 54 are unchanged.
