The Sensex is now up 274 points at 11,241. Earlier in the day, the index had rallied to a high of 11,339, after opening with a positive gap of 121 points at 11,068.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has soared over 7% to Rs 892. Reliance Infrastructure and ICICI Bank have gained significantly around 6.5% each at Rs 687 and Rs 453, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates surged above 6% at Rs 119, and SBI is up nearly 5% at Rs 1,336.
Infosys and Reliance Communications have gained around 4% each at Rs 1,402 and Rs 226, respectively.
Hindalco dropped 2.5% at Rs 56, and Sun Pharma has slipped 1.5% at Rs 1,218.
