The NSE Nifty is up 86 points at 5,097.
Reliance Communications has surged 3.7% to Rs 580, while Larsen & Toubro and Infosys have moved up around 3% each to Rs 2,920 and Rs 1,880, respectively.
DLF and BHEL have gained 2.7% each to Rs 640 and Rs 1,792, respectively.
ICICI Bank, Maruti and Reliance have advanced 2.3% each at Rs 917, Rs 816 and Rs 2,588, respectively.

Hindalco and Cipla have added over 2% to Rs 196 and Rs 214, respectively.
Cipla, ACC and Maruti are up 2.1% each to Rs 214, Rs 681 and Rs 814, respectively.
Ambuja Cements, Reliance Infra, ACC and HDFC are the other major gainers.
Satyam has tumbled 3.8% to Rs 482.
Hindustan Unilever has plunged 2.7% at Rs 237, and Tata Motors has shed 2% to Rs 659.
