The market continues to remain at higher level in early noon trades. While buying remains firm in select heavyweights, tech majors are still trading with losses. The Sensex is now up 38 points at 7,543, while the Nifty is steady at 2,302 - up 10 points.The breadth of the market remains weak with 832 gainers against 1,646 losers on the BSE.ICICI Bank is trading firm with a surge of 2.30% (Rs 11) at Rs 501. HDFC Bank (up Rs 3 to Rs 678) has trimmed gains on profit-taking. SBI has drifted into the green to Rs 747 - up Rs 4.ITC has added 2.24% (Rs 37) to Rs 1,703, while Reliance Energy has lost a per cent (Rs 7) to Rs 635.Bharti is holding on to its gains at Rs 274 - up Rs 7 or 2.60%.Dr. Reddy's has advanced 2.77% (Rs 21) to Rs 787, while Ranbaxy is still up a per cent (Rs 6) at Rs 510. Cipla, however, is trading lower by 1.18% (Rs 4) at Rs 338.Bajaj, Hero Honda and Marutu are up a per cent each at Rs 1,409 (up Rs 15), Rs 610 (up Rs 5) and Rs 469 (up Rs 4), respectively.Wipro has shed 1.14% (Rs 8) to Rs 705, while TCS has slipped a per cent (Rs 9) to Rs 1,274. Infosys (down Rs 7 to Rs 2,215), too, is exhibiting a weak trend.Select capital goods stocks have flared up. Alstom has shot up 10.76% (Rs 25) to Rs 262. While Nelco has surged 6.68% (Rs 4) to Rs 57, Easb has jumped 6% (Rs 16) to Rs 287. Havell, Graphite, Thermax and Alstom Project are up in a range of 1-4%.Banking scrips are up with steady gains. BoB has added 4.77% (Rs 12) to Rs 256. BOI has gained 4.36% (Rs 5) to Rs 129, while UTI Bank is up 3.70% (Rs 9) at Rs 264. Union Bank of India, Andhra Bank, PNB, IOB are trading higher between 1-3%.
