The Sensex is now up 38 points at 9,754. NSE Nifty is now up eight points at 2,988.
Satyam has zoomed nearly 9% to Rs 175. Hindalco has surged 4.3% to Rs 51.
Jaiprakash has gained 4.2% to Rs 87. Tata Motors has moved up 3.5% at Rs 161.
Tata Steel and Reliance Communication have gained 3% each to Rs 215 and Rs 228, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro and Tata Power have advanced 2.4% each to Rs 770 and Rs 739, respectively.
HDFC and Infosys have declined nearly 1% each at Rs 1,529 and Rs 1,125, respectively.
ONGC, ICICI Bank and Hindustan Unilever are the other major losers today.
