The Sensex has pared some gains and slipped below the 8700-mark. Presently the index is up 40 points at 8690. The Nifty is up 17 points at 2621. Auto and cement stocks have jumped back to higher levels. Wipro has moved up smartly by 3.8% to Rs 428. Old economy heavyweights HLL, ITC and Reliance are trading almost flat.Tata Power down 1.6% and Dr.Reddy's down 1.2% at Rs 440 and Rs 928, have extended losses. NTPC and ICICI Bank are down 1% each at Rs 103 and Rs 540, respectively.
