The Sensex is now up 426 points at 17,147.The NSE Nifty is up 114 points at 5,114.Bharti Airtel has zoomed over 9% to Rs 922, and Reliance Communications has soared 8% to Rs 575.ICICI Bank has surged 4.7% to Rs 918. HDFC and SBI have rallied nearly 4% each to Rs 2,690 and Rs 1,746, respectively.Reliance Energy, HDFC Bank and Tata Steel have gained around 3.5% each at Rs 1,351, Rs 1,495 and Rs 802, respectively.Wipro has moved up 2.8% to Rs 462. ITC and ONGC have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 213 and Rs 1,050, respectively.BHEL has added 1.5% to Rs 1,875. Reliance, Satyam and NTPC are up 1% each at Rs 2,611, Rs 444 and Rs 193, respectively.ACC has shed 1.7% at Rs 784. Cipla, Jaiprakash Associates and DLF are down 1% each at Rs 224, Rs 244 and Rs 668, respectively.Out of 2,720 stocks traded so far, 1,463 have declined, 1,190 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
