The Sensex has pared some of its gains and is now up 51 points at 9900.BHEL is standing firm with a gain of 3.2% at Rs 1,755. Larsen & Toubro is up 1.3% at Rs 2,129.NTPC and Tata Power are up 1.6% each at Rs 115 and Rs 473, respectively.Hindalco and Tata Steel, too, are up 1.6% each at Rs 163 and Rs 402, respectively.Maruti and Tata Motors have moved up 1.6% each at Rs 759 and Rs 698, respectively. Hero Honda has added 1.4% to Rs 863.Wipro has spurted over 1% to Rs 528. HDFC and Grasim are also up over 1% each at Rs 1,332 and Rs 1,464, respectively.ICICI Bank and Bajaj Auto have declined nearly 1% each to Rs 609 and Rs 2,160, respectively. Ranbaxy, Gujarat Ambuja and Dr.Reddy's are the other notable losers.Out of 2,421 stocks traded so far, 1,347 have slipped, 1,005 have moved up and 69 are unchanged.Celebrity Fashion, Sah Petroleum, Nilkamal Plastics and Everest Kanto have soared over 10% each. Suzlon has surged 5.7% to Rs 1,141. Jindal Saw, Crompton Greaves, Tamilnadu Newsprint, Zee, BHEL, Essel Propack, FACT, Ballarpur Industries, Jaiprakash, Godrej Consumers, Engineers India, Lupin, Asian Paints, Jet, PNB, Cummins and VSNL are the other major gainers.Polaris has nose-dived 9% to Rs 119. Goldiam International, Ashapura Minechem, Essar Shipping, Mosanto, Matrix, Ramco System, Alfa Laval, EIH, Syngenta, Kotak Bank, ING Vysya Bank, IOC, Hindustan Zinc and IBP are on slippery ground.
