The NSE Nifty is up 22 points at 5,218.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and Reliance Communications have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 659 and Rs 589, respectively.
Tata Motors has advanced over 2% to Rs 653. Jaiprakash Associates and Maruti have gained 1.8% each at Rs 271 and Rs 744, respectively.
NTPC has moved up 1.5% to Rs 198, and Larsen & Toubro is up over 1% at Rs 3,042.
