The Sensex has surged above the 7,800-mark to 7,809 (up 53 pts) as buying has picked up in select tech, heavyweights and banking stocks.The market breadth is still negative, with 1,035 advances against 1,432 declines on the BSE so far.Infosys has advanced 2.70% (Rs 62) to Rs 2,362, and Satyam has moved up 4.25% (Rs 22) to Rs 548. TCS and Wipro are alos trading higher at Rs 1,297 and Rs 734, respectively.ITC has shot up 4.25% (Rs 71) to Rs 1,740. Reliance has dropped 2% (Rs 15) to Rs 726. HLL, however, is still exhibiting weak trends at Rs 169 - down Rs 2.HDFC Bank has moved up 2% (Rs 14) to Rs 682, while SBI has gained 1.73% (Rs 14) to Rs 818.Bajaj has zoomed 4.30% (Rs 63) to Rs 1,530. Other auto majors are displaying mixed trends.Hindalco (up Rs 27 or 2% to Rs 1,316) and L&T (up Rs 29 or 2.37% to Rs 1,274) have registered strong gains. Bharti, however, is down a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 283.Capital goods stocks have logged decent gains. KSB Pumps has notched up 6.16% gains (Rs 22) to Rs 381. While ABB has advanced 4.53% to Rs 1,554, Alfa Laval has gained 4.40% to Rs 780. Siemens, KEC International, BEML, Crompton Greaves, BEL and Amforge Industries are up in a range of 1-3%.
