The Sensex opened 32 points higher at 8,779. The index is now up 63 points at 8,810.
Jaiprakash Associates has surged 2.3% to Rs 64. SBI and DLF have moved up 1.6% each to Rs 1,115 and Rs 195, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 1.3% to Rs 246. Tata Motors, ACC and Larsen & Toubro are up 1% each at Rs 135, Rs 406 and Rs 697, respectively.
Hindalco has slipped 2.7% to Rs 50.
