The Sensex is exhibiting high volatility today. The index, which opened with a positive gap of 159 points had soon zoomed to a high of 11,697 - up 306 points from the previous close.A fresh round of selling saw the index tumble all the way into the red to a low of 11,004 - down 693 points from the day's high. The index is swinging in and out of the positive zone and is now up 66 points at 11,457.The markets breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,187 stocks traded so far, 1,472 have declined, 654 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.Hindalco has surged nearly 3% to Rs 198. Grasim and Gujarat Ambuja have spurted over 1% each to Rs 2,010 and Rs 100, respectively.Reliance has rallied over 2% to Rs 1027. Reliance Energy has added 1.6% to Rs 544.Bharti Tele has moved up 2.6% to Rs 410. Tata Motors and SBI have advancd over 1% each to Rs 883 and Rs 918, respectively.Cipla has slipped over 4% to Rs 234. Dr.Reddy's is down 1.7% at Rs 1,527.Tata Steel and BHEL have shed 3% each to Rs 529 and Rs 2,054, respectively.Satyam has tumbled over 2% to Rs 701. HDFC has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 1,265, and Hero Honda has declined 1.6% to Rs 860.NTPC is down over 1% at Rs 122.
