The sensex today opened marginally lower and later witnessed volatile activity during morning trading due to low volume on the Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE) despite flow of encouraging first quarter results.The BSE Benchmark 30-share Index opened down at 7632.01 as against last Friday's close of 7635.42 and later fluctuated in a range of 7672.81 and 7613.94 before being quoted at 7635.88 at 10.30 am, a minor variation from last close.Brokers said the volume is affected by sparse attendance of traders and market players caused by incessant rains in the metropolis coupled with a forecast of heavy to very heavy rains in the next 24 hours.
