Short-Term Outlook Unclear

The stock markets kicked off amid a semblance of optimism but proceeded to trade flat throughout Friday.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensex wound up at 3370.39 (down 03.13 points) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty 50 ended the day at 1086.50 (down 01.85 points).

The market breadth was marginally positive as the combined figures on both the exchanges stood at 1189: 1077. Traded volume on the BSE was Rs 1,303 crore, while on the NSE, it stood at Rs 2,625 crore.
