Significant gains for Smart Portfolios

An investment of Rs 10 lakh at the start of Smart Portfolios on September 1, 2009, is valued at Rs 11.12 lakh, up 11.20 per cent in the last six months. Ajay Parmar’s net worth has soared by 26.37 per cent to Rs 12.64 lakh. Amar Ambani’s portfolio value has surged by 27.38 per cent to Rs 12.74 lakh. Phani Sekhar, who joined in two weeks later, has seen his net worth move up by 9.3 per cent to Rs 10.93 lakh. Finally, Vinay Khattar, who overtook Praveen Panjwani’s portfolio, has seen a rise of 6.04 per cent.

Of the four fund managers, Phani Sekhar remained on the sidelines while the others collectively bought shares worth Rs 3.28 lakh. However, Amar Ambani was a net seller of stocks worth Rs 47,814.

Phani Sekhar remained on the sidelines for the second straight week. His net worth, however, grew by 4.89 per cent. His total investments are valued at Rs 10.91 lakh, and he holds just Rs 2,044 in cash. Sekhar has 15 stocks in his portfolio, of which 10 are trading above his cost price. eClerx and Esab India are the major gainers in his portfolio, while Reliance Infrastructure and Bharti Airtel are the major losers.

His fresh purchases are Jet Airways, Mastek, Hikal, Tata Metaliks, Omax Autos, Piramal Healthcare and Zuari Industries.
