Tracking a weak trend overseas, silver prices fell by 0.53% to Rs 43,993 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July lost Rs 235, or 0.53%, to Rs 43,993 per kg, with a turnover of 4,082 lots.
Similarly, silver for delivery in far-month September dropped by Rs 228, or 0.51%, to Rs 44,591 per kg, in a business turnover of 135 lots.
Meanwhile, in Singapore, silver dropped 0.67% to $22.40 an ounce.

Analysts said a weak trend in global markets and profit- booking by speculators at prevailing levels, mainly put pressure on silver prices at futures trade here.
