Silver prices rose by 0.81% to Rs 55,442 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions on the back of a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for December delivery rose by Rs 448, or 0.81%, to Rs 55,442 per kg, with a business turnover of 761 lots.
September delivery moved up by Rs 396, or 0.73%, to Rs 54,307 per kg, with a turnover of 4,973 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with a firming global trend mainly pushed up silver futures prices.
Meanwhile, silver was trading 0.20% higher at $36.16 an ounce in the Asian region.
