Silver prices edged higher by Rs 43 to Rs 53,060 per kg in futures trading today mostly in line with a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September rose by Rs 43, or 0.08%, to Rs 53,060 per kg in business turnover of 11,980 lots.
The December contract gained Rs 30, or 0.05% to Rs 54,731 per kg in 436 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in silver futures to a firm global trend.
Meanwhile, silver climbed 0.8% to $27.37 an ounce in London.
