Silver futures trade higher on fresh buying

Silver prices rose by Rs 64, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 29,844 per kg in futures market today on fresh buying by traders supported by a better trend in Asia.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for December contract rose by Rs 64, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 29,844 per kg, with an open interest of 193 lots. 

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July contract gained Rs 19, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 29,587 per kg, with a business volume of 13,192 lots.

Market analysts said fresh buying by traders and reports of better trend in the Asian region led to a rise in silver prices at futures trade here.

Meanwhile, silver gained 0.16 per cent to $18.83 an ounce in Asian region.
