Taking positive cues from global market, silver moved up by 0.49% to Rs 52,571 per kg in futures trading today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, March silver rose by Rs 256, or 0.49%, to Rs 52,571 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,576 lots.
The May delivery traded higher by Rs 251, or 0.47%, to Rs 53,664 per kg, with a trade volume of 45 lots.
Market analysts said the rise in silver futures prices was mostly supported by a firming trend in the precious metals overseas.
In the Asian region, silver prices rose by 1% to $30.29 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today.
