Silver prices rose by Rs 46 to Rs 29,597 per kg in futures trading today on fresh buying by traders in tandem with a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for December month contract gained Rs 46, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 29,597 per kg with an open interest of 159 lots.
The metal for delivery in July contract also traded higher by Rs 38, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 29,404 per kg in 13034 lots.
Marketmen said fresh buying in tandem with a firming global trend mainly helped silver prices to trade higher at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver gained by 0.32 per cent to $18.60 an ounce in Asian region.
