Silver prices fell by 0.17% to Rs 59,780 per kg in futures trade today as speculators locked-in gains at existing levels, amid a weak trend in the Asian region.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for December delivery dropped by Rs 114, or 0.17% to Rs 59,780 per kg, with a business turnover of 21 lots.
Similarly, for September delivery, the white metal traded Rs 88, or 0.15% lower at Rs 58,542 per kg, clocking a turnover of 425 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at current level, weak trend at Asian markets also weighed on the silver futures prices here.
Besides, a subdued trend at the domestic spot markets due to lack of buying support at prevailing levels, also weighed on the silver prices here, they said.
Meanwhile, silver traded 0.13% lower at $39.68 an ounce in the Asian trade.
