Silver futures prices moved up by Rs 116, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 29,350 per kg today on emergence of buying by speculators, and firming trend in global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, silver for December-month contract rose by Rs 116, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 29,350 per kg, with an open interest of 1,334 lots.
The metal for delivery in September-month also gained Rs 100, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 29,235 per kg, with a business turnover of 16,427 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by traders in tandem with a firming trend in global markets mainly pushed up silver prices at futures market.
Meanwhile, silver traded 0.27 per cent higher at $18.33 an ounce in Asian region.
