Snapping a two-day falling trend, silver futures regained strength by 0.51 per cent on the Multi Commodity Exchange today owing to increased offtake in the spot market.
Silver for the most active July-month contract rose by 0.51 per cent to Rs 22,638 per kg on the MCX counter in the afternoon with an open interest of 15,356 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in September inched up by the same margin at Rs 22,760 per kg with an open interest of 2,758 lots.
Marketmen said increased demand in the spot market at existing lower levels mainly led to rise in silver prices at futures market here.
