Silver prices edged higher by 0.20%, to Rs 45,439 per kg in futures trade today after participants built up positions, taking positive cues from overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in March up by Rs 91, or 0.20%, to Rs 45,439 per kg in business turnover of 1,787 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May traded Rs 73, or 0.16%, higher at Rs 46,390 per kg in 40 lots.
Meanwhile, silver gained 1.3% to USD 20.28 an ounce in Singapore.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices at futures trade was mostly in line with a firming trend in the global market on speculation demand will rise.
