Smart Portfolios turns positive |

It was yet another week of gains for markets which were boosted by government's reform agenda and sustained capital inflows into equity.
The Smart Portfolios benchmark BSE 200 index gained 9.7 per cent to 1,848 points. An investment of Rs 10 lakh in the benchmark (BSE 200 index) at the start of Smart Portfolios on September 1, 2008, is now worth about Rs 10.48 lakh - up almost 5 per cent and positive for the first time since its inception.
All the fund managers were in profit-booking mode, except Sadanand Shetty - who was a net buyer of stocks. Out of 78 trades executed last week by fund managers, 46 were on the sell side and 32 were on the buy side. Overall, they bought shares worth Rs 15.35 lakh, and sold scrips worth Rs 19.43 lakh.
Anand Agarwal topped the returns chart with a 49 per cent surge in his net worth at Rs 14.88 lakh followed by Amar Ambani whose net worth rose 43.3 per cent to Rs 14.33 lakh. Kashyap Pujara and Sadanand Shetty saw their net worth appreciate by over 35 per cent each to Rs 13.51 lakh and Rs 13.41 lakh, respectively.

ANAND AGARWAL
Fund Manager, Reliance Money
Anand Agarwal was the biggest seller among the fund managers, selling equities worth Rs 1.97 lakh. Last week, he executed 21 trades of which 11 were on the sell side and the rest on the buy side. Agarwal exited from GMR Infra with gains of over 34 per cent. He also booked partial gains in Bharati Shipyard, Pantaloon Retail and Genus Power Infra.
Agarwal's purchases include Gujarat NRE Coke, Jai Corporation, Chennai Petro and Essar Oil. Of the 13 stocks that he holds, only Pantaloon Retail, down 4.9 per cent, is in the red, while TRF, which is nearly 40 per cent of his portfolio, is up over 70.4 per cent from his cost price.
Agarwal's net worth rose 16 per cent last week. He continues to hold cash of Rs 2.6 lakh.

Sadanand Shetty, who executed 15 trades last week, was in the buy mode. Ranbaxy Laboratories, NDTV, Man Ind, UTV Software, HPCL and Jindal Steel & Power are the new entrants in his portfolio.
Shetty exited from Aditya Birla Nuvo pocketing a gain 29 per cent. He also booked partial profits in GVK Power & Infra, Reliance Capital and Bank of India with gains of 42 to 49 per cent.
At the end of the week, his net worth increased from Rs 12.72 lakh to Rs 13.41 lakh, up 5.4 per cent. While most of his stocks ended in the green, Orbit Corporation was his biggest gainer—up over 127 per cent from his purchase price. He now holds Rs 2.38 lakh in cash.

Kashyap Pujara's net worth appreciated by just 2.7 per cent to Rs 13.51 lakh last week from 13.15 lakh in preceding week. He executed just 11 trades of which eight were on sell side. He sold stocks worth Rs 39,632.
All the ten stock in his portfolio are up between 2 to 75 per cent - except Shipping Corporation which is down just under a per cent.
He booked partial profits in his long-time holdings such as Century Textile and Sterlite Industries while exiting from EID Parry. Pujara's total investments stand at Rs 10.81 lakh and he holds cash of Rs 2.7 lakh.
