Solvent extractors to study Chinese market

The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA), the association of vegetable oil industry & trade, is deputing a trade delegation to promote export of oilmeals to China and also study the Chinese shift from being an oil importing country to an oilseeds importing country.
 
The 13 member delegation under the leadership of D P Khandelia, president, SEA, will visit Beijing, Herbin, Shanghai, Nantong, Guangzhou during April 16-25, 2004, to study how China has helped it domestic industry to better utilise their capacity and made their vegetable oilseed sector a vibrant part of their agri economy.
 
The objective of the delegation also includes enhancing mutual co-operation and exchange of market and technological information with Chinese oilseed crushers and processors, vegetable oil refiners, importers and traders.
 
The team will also evaluate the technology used and study the efficiency of crushing solvent extraction and refining sector and develop links with various Chinese oilseeds and vegetable oil organisations including the China National Vegetable Oil Association for mutual benefit.
 
The delegation will also promote the export of oilmeals, groundnut oil and other agri products from India and work towards higher co-operation in the areas of joint ventures and technology transfers. between the two countries and organising techno fairs, seminars in vegetable oil and oilseed complex on mutual interest in both the countries.
