India's soyameal exports jumped by more than two-fold to 5.45 lakh tonnes during last month as compared with the year-ago period, according to industry data released today.
Soyameal exports stood at 2.18 lakh tonnes in February 2010, Indore-based Soyabean Processors Association (SOPA) said in a statement.
During October-February period of 2010-11 oil year, soyameal exports rose by 93.93 per cent to 25.87 lakh tonnes as against 13.34 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia are the major importers of Indian soyameal at 7.32 lakh tonnes, 6.01 lakh tonnes and 2.86 lakh tonnes, respectively.
