SRF soars 20% on heavy volumes

The company has commissioned its first biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film line in South Africa.

SRF is locked in upper circuit of 20% at Rs 207 on back of heavy volumes on the bourses. The stock opened at Rs 171 and has seen over multiple-fold jump in trading volumes.

A combined 491,096 shares have already changed hands on the counter till 1255 hours against an average sub 20,000 shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on the BSE and NSE.

On Wednesday, SRF Limited, a multi-business entity engaged in the manufacture of chemical based industrial intermediates, has commissioned its first biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film line in South Africa.

In a BSE filing, SRF said that a BOPP Film Line (with 25,500 TPA capacity) has been setup and production started by the company's wholly owned step-down subsidiary SRF Flexipak (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd in South Africa.
