Steady conditions prevailed on the wholesale steel and iron market today as prices moved in a narrow range on sluggish demand and settled around previous levels.

Tight money markets and slow down in constructions activity due to monsoon also cast its shadow. Traders said apart from paucity of funds, fall in demand in view of rainy season also influenced the sentiments.
