Subdued opening for markets

The markets have opened in the red wirth the Sensex losing 40 points to start at 19,761 and the Nifty shed 12 points at 5,931. The broader markets had a flat opening with the midcap space up 0.08% and the smallcap index has gained 0.02% tostart at 9,282.

Among the Sectoral indices, IT up 0.5% closely followed by Oil & Gas, Teck and PSU gaining 0.4% ecah lead the sectoral chart. On the other hand, Bankex down 0.8% followed by Realty, Metal shedding 0.6% and 0.2%  are the bottom of the sectoral chart in the morning trades.

Reliance Communications up 2% followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever,ONGC and Infosys adding 0.4% - 0.7% are the top gainers on the Sensex.

ICICI Bank, Hero Honda, SBI, DLF, Hindalco down 1% each are the top losers in the opening trades.

The market breadth is marginally positive. 671 stocks have advanced while 669 have declined.

Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL) has debuted at Rs 565 , a 51% premium against its issue price of Rs 375 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The stock touched high of Rs 575 and low of Rs 547 . Around 1.54 million shares have changed hands so far in the opening deals.
