Sugar declines on reduced demand

Sugar prices declined further at the Vashi Wholesale market here today owing to lower demand by stockists and bulk consumers, amidst selling pressure from mills.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) fell by Rs 15/30 per quintal to Rs 2,891/2,951 from overnight closing level of Rs 2,906/ 2,981.

Small sugar quality (S-30) also lost Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 2,861/2,901 as against Rs 2,881/2,921 yesterday.

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets:   

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,861/2,901 (Rs 2,881/ 2,921) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,891/2,951 (Rs 2,906/2,981)
