Sugar prices declined by Rs 15 per quintal in the national capital today following ample supply against restricted buying activity.

Market analysts said increased arrivals from mills against reduced offtake by stockists, pulled down sugar prices.

They said reduced offtake by bulk consumers such as softdrink and ice-cream makers following ongoing monsoon also influenced the market sentiment to some extent.

Sugar ready medium and second grade prices moved down marginally by Rs 10 each to settle at Rs 2,950-3,060 and Rs 2,925-3,025 per quintal, respectively.

Mill delivery medium and second grade price also fell by Rs 10 each to Rs 2,800-2,940 and Rs 2,790-2,920 per quintal, respectively.
