Sugar prices softened marginally by Rs 20 in the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today following large stocks position amid reduced offtake.
Market analysts said increased arrivals and reduced offtake mainly pulled down sugar prices.
Sugar ready medium settled at Rs 2,920-3,020 from Rs 2,940-3,020, while second grade prices closed at Rs 2,890-3,010 from Rs 2,910-3,010 previously.
Mill delivery medium and second grade price also fell from Rs 2,730-2,915 and Rs 2,700-2,900 to Rs 2,710-2,900 and Rs 2,680-2,880 per quintal, respectively.
