Sugar ends mixed in thin trade

Sugar witnessed a mixed pattern of trading at the Vashi wholesale market here today, as prices of medium sugar fell due to lack of buying from stockists and bulk consumers amidst good supplies.  

While, small sugar variety moved up on better retail buying.

Medium sugar (M-30) declined by Rs 19 per quintal to Rs 2,741/2,891 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 2,760/ 2,891.

Small sugar (S-30), however looked up by Rs 1/6 per quintal to Rs 2,741/2,771 as compared to Rs 2,740/2,765 yesterday.

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets: 

Medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,741/2,891 (Rs 2,760/ 2,891) and Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,741/2,771 (Rs 2,740/2,765)
