Sugar prices declined by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today following heavy arrivals from mills.

Market analysts said large ready stocks alongwith increased supply from mills, mainly pulled down sugar prices.

However, increased offtake by bulk consumers such as soft drink and ice cream making industries, somewhat capped the falling prices to some extent.

Sugar ready medium and second grade prices dropped by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,920-3,050 and Rs 2,900-3,030 per quintal, respectively.

Mill delivery medium and second grade prices also fell by Rs 40 each to Rs 2,710-2,860 and Rs 2,700-2,825 per quintal, respectively.

Following were today's quotation in Rs per quintal.
