Sugar prices fell up to Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today on reduced offtake by bulk consumers and retailers against adequate stocks.
Traders said reduced offtake by bulk consumers and retailers against adequate stocks positions mainly pulled down sugar wholesale sugar prices.
Reduced offtake by confectioners due to rainy season also put pressure on the sugar prices.
Sugar ready medium and second grade prices fell by Rs 40 each to Rs 2,700-2,800 and Rs 2,690-2,790 per quintal.
Similarly, the mill delivery medium and second grade prices dipped by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,500-2,620 and Rs 2,490- 2,610 per quintal.

Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 2,700, Asmoli 2,690, Mawana 2,630, Titabi 2,640, Thanabhavan 2,620, Budhana 2,620 and Dorala 2,625.
