Sugar prices decline on sluggish demand

In restricted activity, sugar prices declined by Rs 30 per quintal in the national capital today owing to slackened demand against adequate supply.

Market analysts said adequate stocks position against sluggish demand led to the fall in mill delivery sugar prices. 

At the spot markets, sugar mill delivery medium and second grade prices declined by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,735-2,935 and Rs 2,710-2,910 per quintal, respectively.

Following were today's quotation in Rs per quintal.

Sugar ready M-30 2,925-3,075 and S-30 2,900-3,025
Mill delivery M-30 2,735-2,935 and S-30 2,730-2,910

Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 2,930, Asmoli 2,915, Mawana 2,840, Titabi 2,850, Thanabhavan 2,745, Budhana 2,735 and Dorala 2,825
