Sugar millgate prices softened by up to Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital today, following ample supply from mills amid reduced offtake.
Market analysts said fresh selling by mills driven by reports of higher output this year mainly weighed on sugar prices.
Fall in demand from bulk consumers such as icecream and cold drink making industries also helped to pulled down sentiments.
In millgate section, sugar Mawana and Dorala dropped by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,820 and Rs 2,805 per quintal, respectively.
