Sugar prices up on better offtake

Sugar prices closed marginally higher by Rs 15 per quintal in the national capital today following reduced arrivals amid increased offtake by stockist and bulk consumers.

Sugar spot medium and second grade prices went up by Rs 15 each to Rs 2,890-2,975 and Rs 2,860-2,960 per quintal, respectively.

Mill delivery medium and second grade prices also moved up by Rs 15 each to settle at Rs 2,690-2,865 and Rs 2,660-2,840 per quintal, respectively. 

Following were today's quotation in Rs per quintal.

Sugar ready M-30 2,890-2,975 and S-30 2,860-2,960
Mill delivery M-30 2,690-2,865 and S-30 2,660-2,840

Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 2,845, Asmoli 2,825, Mawana 2,775, Titabi 2,780, Thanabhavan 2,680, Budhana 2675 and Dorala 2,775
